A group of Irish activists, who were caught up in the G8 protests in Genoa last week, are demanding the release of one of their campaigners.

The man is still imprisoned in Italy.

The group is holding a press conference later today to highlight the plight of Joe Moffat, who they claim has been brutalised by the Italian police.

The activists are calling on the Minister for Justice to intervene.
