Road deaths increased by two in 2000

Serious injuries on the roads reduced significantly last year, but road deaths increased by two according to the third progress report on the Government's Road Safety Strategy.

The report confirms that the Government aims to reduce deaths and serious injuries on Irish roads by 20% by 2002.
