Murder jury resumes deliberations

A jury at the Central Criminal Court has resumed its deliberations in the trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering his estranged wife in 1997.

44-year-old bookmaker Paul O'Donoghue, from Aberdeen Street in Dublin 7, has pleaded not guilty to murdering 42-year-old Miriam O'Donoghue at her home in Mulhuddart.

The prosecution has claimed Mr O'Donoghue murdered his wife and then scattered objects around her house to make it look like a burglary.

The jury spent last night in a hotel after failing to reach a verdict yesterday evening.
