Tribunal lawyer accuses builder of lying

A lawyer for the Flood Tribunal has accused one of the key witnesses of lying.

Counsel for the tribunal, Patricia Dillon, argued builder Joe McGowan lied a number of times when he gave evidence to the tribunal last year.

Mr McGowan is being quizzed about why he changed his story about payments to Ray Burke since the last time he was in the witness box.

The tribunal was also told that Mr McGowan had lied on oath during a High Court case in 1985.
