Ex garda gets three years

A former Garda has been jailed for three years for harassing his ex-girlfriend.

Austin Woods, 41, with addresses in Dublin and Louth, has been ordered not to contact Colette Johnson for 15 years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The ex-Garda pleaded guilty to two counts of harassing Ms Johnson.

Judge Dominic Lynch said Woods had caused Ms Johnson "discomfort and unhappiness."
