No breakthrough in suitcase body case

The investigation to try to identify the murdered man whose body was found inside a suitcase in Dublin's Royal Canal at the weekend has gone international.

It's hoped Interpol will be able to help identify the man whose killing continues to baffle detectives heading up the murder hunt.

Chief Superintedent Al McHugh from Store Street station in Dublin, who is in charge of the case said: "We are continuing to search our own missing persons file - nothing has come up so far to indicate the person has been reported missing in this jurisdiction."

"We will be carrying out inquiries with other police forces, including Interpol, to help establish who this person is, if our inquiries locally come to a negative conclusion."
