Sixth person loses life in accident

A sixth person has lost his life in the past 24 hours on the nation's roads.

A 17-year-old man died when his car drove over a fence at 3.30am, in Ballydehob, Co Cork.

Meanwhile, five others died in two separate accidents in Co Kildare last night.

Two men and a woman were killed in a head-on collision near the village of Moy Valley at 9pm last night.

The two men were declared dead at the scene.

Two women who were involved in the crash were both rushed to hospital, where one died.

At about 9.30pm, two more men were killed when their jeep went into a ditch near Newbridge in Co Kildare.
