Intel staff consider redundancy offer

Workers at the Intel plant in Leixlip, Co Kildare are today studying a voluntary redundancy package put to the workforce last night in an attempt to counteract the downturn in the IT sector.

Intel, the world's largest computer chip manufacturer, wants to lay off around 200 workers in the hope of remaining competitive in the face of a global economic slump.
