Two children die in dinghy accident

Two children have died in a drowning accident in Co Mayo.

The accident happened this afternoon in the sea off Belmullet, while the two were out on a dinghy.

The bodies of a five-year-old boy and his 15-year-old sister, who are both from the local area, were recovered from the water by the Belmullet lifeboat.

They were found about 100 yards from the shore.
