Abortion referendum could be 'divisive' - Harney

The Tanaiste has come out strongly against an autumn referendum on abortion, saying it would be 'bitter, divisive and damaging'.

Mary Harney said there should be an extensive public information campaign before it is decided whether to hold a new abortion referendum.
