Man who collected information for the INLA jailed for 4 years
A man who gathered information for the dissident Republican group, the INLA has been jailed for four years by the Special Criminal Court.
The prosecution was the first of its kind under new laws that were introduced in the wake of the Omagh bombing.
Mr Kevin McLaughlin, 36, from Barnsley in Belfast, pleaded guilty to collecting information in relation to the identity and movements of Patrick Neville, which was likely to be used by members of an unlawful organisation.
Mr Neville was murdered in April of last year; his death was believed to be the responsibility of the INLA.
