The decision to host a second U2 concert at Slane Castle has been put back until early next week.

An announcement on the issue was due today.

Officials at the Meath Co Council said that they are considering the viewpoints of several parties who have all submitted opinions on the event.

At least four residents of Slane are believed to have objected to the hosting of a second concert.

U2 are scheduled to play in front of more than 80,000 fans at the venue on August 25 next.
