Britain respects Ireland's 'no' vote - Straw

The British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, says the European Union must not be enlarged until Ireland ratifies the Nice Treaty.

The president of the EU commission, Romano Prodi, had suggested that enlargement might go ahead despite our rejection of the treaty.
