Ahern 'disappointed' at Tipp South loss

Bertie Ahern has insisted the campaign run by Fianna Fail candidate Cllr Michael Maguire in Tipperary South was excellent, despite his elimination after the second count.

The Taoiseach admitted that he was "disappointed" Fianna Fail had not taken the seat.

The seat was eventually taken by Fine Gael's Tom Hayes.
