Fuel laundering plant seized in Co Meath

Custom officers backed up by gardai have discovered an fuel laundering plant in Slane, Co Meath which they say had the potential to produce 150,000 litres of diesel a week.

Custom officers backed up by gardai have discovered an fuel laundering plant in Slane, Co Meath which they say had the potential to produce 150,000 litres of diesel a week.

Approximately 10,000 litres of diesel was also seized.

It is estimated that the plant had the capacity to defraud the State of £2m a year.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
