Fianna Fail and Labour to examine outcome of by-election
Fianna Fail and Labour must begin a post-mortem inquiry into their poor performances in last weekend’s by-election in south Tipperary.
Fine Gael’s Senator Tom Hayes was elected to fill the seat that was left vacant by the death of his party colleague last year.
Labour’s Denis Landy was dropped from the race after only the first count and the Fianna Fail candidate was dropped after the second count, which will come as a major blow for both the parties.
