Assembly to discuss Trimble resignation

The Ulster Unionist MP, Jeffery Donaldson has announced that David Trimble’s resignation as the First Minister of the Northern Assembly will place renewed pressure on the IRA to decommission their arms.

The Assembly is scheduled to meet later today to discuss the resignation and Mr Trimble is also expected to elaborate on his reasoning behind the move.
