Hayes still favourite on last day of campaign
Fine Gael Senator Tom Hayes remains favourite to take the seat in Tipperary South on the final day of canvassing before tomorrow's vote.
Sen Hayes is hoping to fill the void left by the death of party colleague, Theresa Ahern. However, he is facing a strong challenge from Workers and Unemployed Action Group member Phil Prendergast.
Fianna Fail's Michael Maguire is thought to be lagging behind, while Labour's Denis Landy is likely to be eliminated first, and his transfers may prove crucial.
All candidates are battling election fatigue, as this is the third consecutive summer that there has been a by-election in the constituency.
