Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and British Prime Minister Tony Blair tonight announced plans for a fresh push to stabilise the peace process next week in the wake of David Trimble’s threatened resignation as Northern Ireland First Minister.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and British Prime Minister Tony Blair tonight announced plans for a fresh push to stabilise the peace process next week in the wake of David Trimble’s threatened resignation as Northern Ireland First Minister.

Mr Blair and Mr Ahern said after a round of discussions with the provinces pro Good Friday Agreement parties that a new bid to break the deadlock in the peace process will begin next week.
