Search for art thieves on-going
Gardai are continuing their search for the armed gang who stole paintings from the Beit collection in Russborough house in Co Wicklow yesterday.
Detectives are still examining the scene of the crime for clues that gang seem to have left behind after apparently panicking following the robbery.
The jeep that was used to ram open the front door of the house was abandoned after the gang failed to set it alight and inside the vehicle a set of used gloves were found, which are believed to have been used in the robbery.
Forensic experts are also searching for fibres of clothing that may have been left behind by the gang.
Gardai are also looking for the third vehicle they used in the raid after the Volkswagen Golf that they used to escape was found nearby.
