Loyalists blamed for Belfast shooting

Loyalist paramilitaries are being blamed for the attack on a Catholic man who was shot while sitting in his home in north Belfast last night.

The 31-year-old man was shot at through the window of his house on Rospenna Street on the nationalist side of the peace line in the city and he is now recovering in hospital.

The attack has been described as being entirely random by Sinn Fein, who have blamed the Ulster Defence Association for the attack.

Three children were in the house when the attack took place but they were not harmed. The RUC have launched an enquiry into the motives behind attack.
