Consultants selected for stadium overview

The Minister for Sport, Dr Jim McDaid, has appointed an international consultancy company to carry out the overview on the costs and benefits of Stadium Ireland.

Minister McDaid said he had selected London-based High Point Rendel because he believes they have a proven track record in this field.

The company has already been involved in such projects as the Commonwealth Games Stadium in Malaysia, along with international airports in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The overview will examine the costs and benefits of the proposed stadium.

A submission is expected by September.
