Boy's body found on beach

The body of an eight-year-old boy has been found in suspicious circumstances on a beach in Co Wicklow.

The grim discovery was made by a young man out walking on the north beach in Greystones around midnight.

The body of the boy, who is believed to be from outside Wicklow town, has been removed to Loughlinstown Hospital.

The state pathologist and members of the garda forensic team are due at the scene shortly.
