A third man has been arrested in Limerick following a major drugs haul in the city.

A third man has been arrested in Limerick following a major drugs haul in the city.

Two men were arrested yesterday and are still being quizzed at Henry St Garda Station.

A consignment worth £1m was made in Meelick, Co Clare - just outside the city yesterday evening.

Gardai said the find was the result of a lengthy operation by the drugs squad and local gardai.

The drugs, believed to be amphetamines and Ecstasy, have been sent for forensic examination.

The men are being questioned at Henry Street Garda Station under the Drugs Trafficking Act.
