Two held after bomb attack on SDLP man's home

Loyalists have carried out a murder bid on the family of an SDLP councillor in Co Antrim overnight.

Councillor Martin Wilson lives with his sister, mother and 10-year-old son in Larne.

At 2.15am, an explosion rocked their home after which the family found a second pipe bomb and called the RUC.

They were being evacuated to Councillor Wilson's brother's house across the street when another pipe bomb was found at the front door of that house and more people were evacuated from the area.

It is understood there have been two arrests in a follow-up operation.
