IBEC fears spiralling childcare costs

IBEC claims the childcare crisis is continuing to worsen, with costs "spiralling out of control".

The employers group says parents are having to make difficult choices regarding childcare and work.

It is due to outline its fears later today at a conference organised by the country's largest trade union SIPTU in Killarney.

IBEC's director of social policy, Aileen O'Donoghue, said a system of tax relief is badly needed if parents are to be able to afford childcare.
