The employers group says parents are having to make difficult choices regarding childcare and work.

It is due to outline its fears later today at a conference organised by the country's largest trade union SIPTU in Killarney.

IBEC's director of social policy, Aileen O'Donoghue, said a system of tax relief is badly needed if parents are to be able to afford childcare.
