A Dublin man accused of the capital murder of a Garda Sergeant in an alleged arson attack on Tallaght Garda Station two years ago has pleaded not guilty to the charge at the Central Criminal Court.

37-year-old Daniel O'Toole, of Cashel Ave, Crumlin, denies the alleged offence on July 21, 1999.

However, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.

A jury has been sworn in and the trial before Mr Paul Carney is expected to begin today.
