Louth FMD tests prove negative
Tests for foot-and-mouth disease taken from an animal in Dunleer, Co Louth, have proven negative.
The results were returned from a testing centre at Purbright in England, which is also analysing samples taken from an animal at Kildare Chilling.
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland was today given permission by Europe to resume the export of meat and dairy products and livestock following the lifting of foot-and-mouth restrictions.
