The Moriarty Tribunal is currently examining the awarding of the lucrative licence in 1995 to Denis O’Brien’s company Esat, by the then Minister for Communications Michael Lowry.

Speaking exclusively to Independent Network News, Berite Ahern said that at that time he was in Opposition, there were major concerns about the contract.
