Writ for South-Tipperary by-election moved

The writ for the South Tipperary by-election has been moved by the Dail.

The by-election results from the death of Fine Gael TD Theresa Ahern last September.

It will be seen as the first real test of Michael Noonan’s leadership of the party.

The motion was put to the Dail by Fine Gael Deputy Paul Bradford.
