Louth samples sent for FMD tests

Samples from four calves from a farm near Dunleer, Co Louth have been sent to Purbright in Britain for foot-and-mouth testing.

Lesions were discovered on the calves' mouths.

The animals are part of a 120-strong herd.

Department of Agriculture officials said the action was precautionary.
