Marts to be re-opened soon

The Department of Agriculture is expected to announce the re-opening of cattle and sheep marts across the country.

It comes as foot-and-mouth restrictions placed on the Galtee Meats factory near Mitchelstown in Co Cork are lifted.

It is believed marts will open for business at the beginning of June.

They were shut for 12 weeks.
