Second body recovered from Dublin Bay

The body of a second person has been pulled from Dublin Bay following an accident involving a yacht and cargo vessel at the entrance to the channel of Dublin port.

The body of a second person has been pulled from Dublin Bay following an accident involving a yacht and cargo vessel at the entrance to the channel of Dublin port.

Since early morning a major rescue operation has been underway after the two vessels collided causing the yacht to sink. The port is closed to all traffic until further notice.

There were five people on board the yacht, three have been confirmed dead, one man was rescued safely and hopes are fading for the remaining crew member who has not yet been found.
