Two injured in Belfast shootings

Two men have been wounded in overnight shooting incidents in north Belfast.

The RUC said it was investigating the circumstances in which the first man was shot in the Ballysillan Avenue area.

The victim is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital with a leg wound.

It is understood he was walking with a group of men when a single shot rang out and he was hit.

The second man was shot and wounded in the Forthriver Drive area.

The victim, who was in his twenties, was taken to hospital after he was found in an entry at Cairndale Flats with a gunshot wound to the leg.

His condition is not believed to be serious.
