The people of Northern Ireland will have an opportunity to pass their verdict on David Trimble’s handling of the peace process, Democratic Unionist leader the Rev Ian Paisley claimed today.

The North Antrim MP said at the launch of his party’s campaign for the Westminster and Northern Ireland local government elections that unionist voters had a "choice to make whether Northern Ireland goes down the road of the republican agenda or whether they will stop and seek a way to renegotiate our position".
