Suspended Kerry official recommended for promotion

A Kerry County Council official who was suspended earlier this month as a result of a planning investigation has been recommended for promotion to senior executive engineer.

Donal Mangan is facing charges at Killorglin District Court next week relating to tree-felling at a site near Beaufort last year.

County manager Martin Nolan has said he will consider the recommendation, along with all other relevant information, in the next two weeks.
