Minister worried about impact of publicity of Abbeylara inquiry

The Minister for Justice has intervened in the row between the Oireachtas Committee of inquiry into the Abbeylara shooting and lawyers for the Gardai.

John O'Donoghue has written to the committee Chairman Sean Ardagh, saying that he too, is concerned about the potential impact of publicity on the operations of the Garda Emergency Response Unit.

The Minister is appealing for the Committee to examine such implications, in a matter consistent with it's remit to carry out the inquiry.
