Commissioner Byrne is again answering questions to the Dail sub-committee inquirying into the shooting death of John Carthy at Abbeylara in Co Longford last year.

He said the image of a sniper waiting for an order to open fire does not hold true.

Commissioner Byrne says in hindsight a solicitor should have been brought to talk to John Carthy during the seige, however he does not believe it would have altered the outcome.
