Doctors opposed to medical cards for over-70s
Family doctors have criticised the Government's plans to give free medical cards to everyone over the age of 70 from this July.
GPs say the move is unfair, because in the past, eligibility has always been based on income.
Delegates at the Irish Medical Organisation's annual general meeting in Killarney, Co. Kerry will debate a motion later today proposing that the Government's plans be resisted by all lawful means.
