Gardai investigate death of Limerick man

A man has been arrested in Limerick following the death of a man in the early hours of the morning.

A man has been arrested in Limerick following the death of a man in the early hours of the morning.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was brought to Limerick General Hospital where he died soon afterwards.

The incident occurred following a disturbance in the Rathkeel area of the city at about 1.15am.

The scene has been preserved by the Garda technical unit for examination and the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, will carry out a post mortem later today.

The local man being questioned in relation to the incident is being held at Henry Street Garda station.
