Cayman Ansbacher hearings begin

The Chief Justice of the Cayman Islands is to begin hearing an application today from Ansbacher Cayman Ltd that the bank be allowed to give information to Irish High Court inspectors examining the Ansbacher deposits.

The Chief Justice of the Cayman Islands is to begin hearing an application today from Ansbacher Cayman Ltd that the bank be allowed to give information to Irish High Court inspectors examining the Ansbacher deposits.

However, a number of parties holding such accounts have come forward and objected to the information being divulged.

The case before Mr Justice Anthony Smellie is to be held in chambers and is expected to last three days.
