Ireland to ship disinfectant equipment to UK
The Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources is today finalising plans to ship extra disinfectant equipment to British ports to protect Ireland against foot -and-mouth disease.
His comments follow claims that the British Government is unaware of the plan.
The equipment will cost the taxpayer up to £100,000.
Irish personnel may also be deployed to British ports in the coming weeks to help in the fight against the virus.
