Pressure mounts on Mayo TD
Pressure is mounting on Beverley Cooper-Flynn to resign from Fianna Fail.
The Mayo TD is expected to meet with parliamentary party members in the coming days to discuss her case.
Since the High Court ordered her to pay out all costs, estimated at £2m in her libel trial against RTE, Fianna Fail colleagues have been slowly lining up
against her.
Yesterday, the Taoiseach himself said he took a very dim view of her case.
Parliamentary party officers are to meet with the Mayo TD over the next few days.
She now also has to decide if she will appeal her case to the Supreme Court. It is believed that if she doesn't appeal, then her future in the party is bleak.
