Fine Gael has tabled a new Dail Bill aimed at limiting corporate donations to all political parties.

The Bill, which was drawn up by justice spokesperson Alan Shatter, puts a ceiling of £1,000 per year on such donations.

Under the Bill, only Irish citizens resident in this country would be allowed to make donations.

The Bill also requires parties to disclose all contributions of over £500 to the Public Offices Commission. Currently, donations must exceed £4,000 for such notification to be necessary.
