Walsh to visit Louth today

The Minister for Agriculture is to visit Co Louth this morning before formally announcing plans to extend the slaughter of animals beyond the exclusion zone.

More than 10,000 sheep and 500 cattle have already been destroyed within the 3km zone around the farm at Proleek.

It is not yet clear how many more animals will have to be culled.
