Thousands of second level students across the country have walked out of their classrooms in protest at the continuing nationwide strike by teachers.

Thousands of second level students across the country have walked out of their classrooms in protest at the continuing nationwide strike by teachers.

Schools in counties Meath, Kildare, Dublin, Wexford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow and Clare are all the subject of student demonstrations today, ahead of tomorrow's planned two days of strike action by the ASTI.

Thousands of students are also expected to march on the Dail tomorrow to highlight the effect of the long-running dispute on their chances in forthcoming exams.
