Donation brings more pressure for Noonan

There are calls for the Fine Gael leader to declare when he first knew of a $50,000 donation from the Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor.

The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs wants Michael Noonan to clarify whether questions were asked about the donation before the matter first arose last week.

Dermot Ahern claims there is evidence to suggest Fine Gael tried to keep the details from the Moriarty Tribunal. Minister Ahern said the party has not dealt with the issues raised by the controversy.
