Minister meets president of parents council
The Minister for Education has met with the president of the Second Level Parents Council today to discuss contingency plans for holding the Leaving and Junior Cert exams.
Minister Michael Woods gave his assurance that the exams will proceed in every respect and the highest quality standards will be maintained.
The meeting came in the wake of yesterday's decision by the ASTI to go ahead with a series of strikes, beginning this week, in their pursuit of a 30% pay rise.
