Murder probe underway in Limerick City
A murder investigation is underway in Limerick into the death of a 25-year-old man two weeks ago.
A post mortem has shown that Anthony O'Donoghue died from head injuries.
He was found unconscious on the Dublin Road in Limerick on February 19 and died on Monday night at University College Hospital, Cork. He never regained consciousness.
Gardai are now appealing for witnesses but say they are following a definite line of enquiry.
A garda spokesman said: "We received a call to go to a man lying outside Cherrydale court, Limerick.
"He was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital with a fractured skull.
"He died without having regained consciousness. It was initially thought he had fallen but it is a little more sinister than that."
