U2 announce European tour dates

U2 have announced details of the European leg of their Elevation 2001 Tour.

Full details of the tour were announced on the band's website today.

The dates start on July 6 in Copenhagen.

U2 will play in the UK, Stockholm, Cologne, Munich, Paris, Imola, Zurich, Vienna, Berlin, Utrecht, Antwerp and Barcelona.

The tour will finish at Slane Castle in Co Meath on August 25.

Tickets for Slane Castle go on sale on Saturday. Other on-sale dates will be announced soon.

The Elevation Tour starts in Miami on March 24.

The American leg runs until the end of June, with support from PJ Harvey.

Coldplay, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Irish outfit JJ72 support the band at Slane.
